Kogut’s OT strike sends Herons past Knights 2-1

GENESEO, N.Y.—Junior Caroline Kogut scored just over seven minutes into overtime as the William Smith field hockey team bounced back with a 2-1 win over SUNY Geneseo this evening. With the win, the Herons improve to 2-1 on the season, while the Knights suffer their first loss of the season and fall to 3-1 overall. William Smith got back into the win column with an impressive performance on the road. Geneseo held a 15-8 edge in shots in the non-conference battle, including a 10-4 advantage in shots on goal.
