Blazers Shut Out Samford, 2-0, in In-Town Battle

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB women’s soccer (3-4-1) scored twice in a span of less than four minutes in the second half to earn a 2-0 victory over in-town rival Samford (3-2-3) on Thursday night at Samford Track and Soccer Stadium. The victory marked the first time the Green and Gold defeated the Bulldogs on Samford’s home field. After a scoreless opening 45 minutes, UAB broke through in the 67 th minute. Lailah Stewart set up Avery Berryman , who found the back of the net to give the Blazers a 1-0 advantage. The goal was Berryman’s third of the season.…
