Hornets Drop Overtime Battle to Mary Washington

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — The University of Lynchburg field hockey team battled Mary Washington through regulation before falling 1-0 in overtime Wednesday evening at Battleground Turf. Mary Washington generated three shots and one penalty corner in the opening quarter, but all three attempts were blocked as the game remained scoreless. Lynchburg created its first opportunities in the second quarter, earning two penalty corners before Taylor Secrist had a shot blocked.
