Cubs Activate Edward Cabrera, Place Trent Thornton On 15-Day IL
The Cubs have activated right-hander Edward Cabrera from the 15-day injured list, and placed Trent Thornton on the 15-day IL due to left ankle soreness. (MLB.com’s Jordan Bastian was the first to report the news.) Cabrera will essentially be taking Thornton’s place in the bullpen, as the Cubs plan to use Cabrera as a reliever for the rest of the season and postseason.
