Leanne Plum arrived in Buies Creek in the summer of 1982 after earning 12 all-state honors and two Florida prep track and field state championships. By the time she graduated four years later, Leanne had earned All-America honors three times. Her school records in the heptathlon and javelin still stand 40 years later.
