MotoGP News: Marquez sweeps Misano weekend

Marc Marquez (pictured) won the San Marino Grand Prix at Misano and took the MotoGP championship lead for the first time in 2026, completing a sprint-and-race double after polesitter Marco Bezzecchi crashed out of the lead on the opening lap. The Ducati rider’s fifth grand prix win of the season—his 78th in the premier class and seventh at Misano—moved him level with Jorge Martín on 274 points. Marquez heads the standings on countback after five race wins to Martín’s one. Bezzecchi, who had led Marquez by 102 points after Mugello in May, is now third on 241, 33 points adrift.…
