Bearcats open season with 6th place finish in Savannah Lakes Invitational

MCCORMICK, S.C. – Lander Men's Golf began the 2026-27 season hosting the Savannah Lakes Men's Invitational at Monticello Golf Club, finishing sixth out of 18 teams. Cathal Penney , playing as an individual, finished T2 and made the All-Tournament Team in a 108-player field after posting rounds of 67/72/69. Penney was fourth in par-5 scoring and sixth in par-4 scoring. He sank the seventh most birdies (13) to go along with 36 pars.
