Four Central Illinois teams elevate in state rankings at halfway point

Ten football teams from Central Illinois are in the Illinois media’s state rankings as the halfway point of the 2026 regular season hits. Several area teams moved up, including Morton and Metamora while Dunlap and Normal West — both of which are in the Class 6A rankings — received some help in the rankings as state powerhouse East St. Louis’ petition to play up in Class 7A was approved by the IHSA.
