Brown wins OVC Preview Meet to lead USI men

By: Dan McDonnell, USI Athletic Communication CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.— Sophomore Carson Brown raced to a first-place finish Friday night to lead University of Southern Indiana Men's Cross Country at the Ohio Valley Conference Preview Meet. Brown overcame hot conditions to finish the eight-kilometer race in 25 minutes, 40.6 seconds, which was 14 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher in the 38-competitor field. The victory marked the first win of Brown's collegiate career. As a team, the Screaming Eagles were fourth in the four-team field with 64 points.
