New Haven Hosts Brown on Homecoming Weekend

WEST HAVEN, Conn. — The New Haven football team lost to Brown 17-10 on Saturday at Ralph F. DellaCamera Stadium. New Haven’s defense stopped Brown’s opening drive when Irv Briggs (Queens Village, N.Y./Holy Trinity) sacked James Murphy and Frederick Borkey (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Thomas More) recovered the fumble at the Chargers 35. Brown scored the first quarter’s only points on Matt Childs’ 3-yard run after an 87-yard completion to Childs, but Myles Hansford (Bordentown, N.J./Bordentown Regional) later intercepted a pass at the Chargers 1 for a touchback to end another Brown chance.
