Tigers secure 500th win in program history with 24-17 victory over N.C. Wesleyan

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Barton Mixon rushed for 120 yards and caught four passes for 105 yards and two touchdowns as Sewanee defeated N.C. Wesleyan, 24-17, on Saturday afternoon at McGee Field at Harris Stadium. The victory marked the 500th win in program history and the first career victory for head coach Joe Freitag. Mixon accounted for both Sewanee touchdowns through the air, including a 51-yard touchdown reception from Cam Beasley in the first quarter and the go-ahead 10-yard touchdown catch from Maddox Franklin with 6:35 remaining in the fourth quarter.
