Nishimura, Takahashi place second at ITA Northwest Regional

NEWBERG, Ore. – Pacific’s Stella Nishimura and Chloe Takahashi finished runner-up in the doubles bracket at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships on Sunday. Nishimura and Takahashi, who entered the three-day tournament as the No. 1 seed, won four matches to reach the finals. The Pacific doubles team defeated Lewis & Clark’s Faith Galyardt and Sonya Drayton 8-5 in Saturday’s semifinals. The championship match went to a tiebreaker, with Whitman’s Renata Rosell Puga and Emerson Bonner winning 6-0, 3-6, 10-4.
