Men’s Golf in Second-Place Midway Through Second Round of Bayou City Collegiate Classic

Houston, Texas — The Rice Men’s Golf team sits in second-place midway through the second round of the weather-shortened Bayou City Collegiate Classic, played Monday at the par-72, 7,184-yard Westwood Golf Club. Lightning halted the tournament for almost two-and-a-half hours halfway through the second round. The Owls began the day with a nine-under 279 to lead after the first round. They were three-under before the stoppage, to sit at -11, one stroke behind UT-Arlington for the lead. Redshirt senior Davis Byrd is in fourth-place at -6. He began the day by firing a 69, the best round of his career.…
