Bulldogs Open Big South Play with Five-Set Victory Over USC Upstate

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNC Asheville volleyball opened Big South Conference play in dramatic fashion Friday night, defeating USC Upstate in five sets (23-25, 25-23, 25-21, 19-25, 15-10) inside the G.B. Hodge Center. Friday’s match marked the first matchup between Asheville and Upstate in the Ingles I-26 Rivalry, and with the Bulldogs’ victory, Asheville moved ahead 3-0 in the overall competition.
