Castro-Martin, Cowboys win Cowboy Stampede

LAKE CHARLES – McNeese Cowgirl junior runner Uxue Castro-Martin captured her first career collegiate individual cross country win here Saturday at the McNeese Cowboy Stampede, clocking a 16:35.0 in the 5k race, winning by eight seconds. The Cowgirls finished third in the team scoring with 63 points. ULL won the team title with 26 points followed by UIW at 44. Northwestern State was fourth with 121 then Southern with 141.
