Boxers battle Whitman to 2-2 draw

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Afsheen Alijani scored the equalizer in the 69th minute as the Pacific men’s soccer team battled Whitman to a 2-2 draw Sunday afternoon at Hanson Stadium. The Boxers moved to 2-3-3 overall and 2-1-3 in Northwest Conference play. Whitman, who entered the match 3-0 in the NWC, took a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute. Pacific had a chance to tie the match in the 32nd minute, but Giovanny Adaya-Ortiz’s penalty kick was saved. Pacific answered in the 35th minute when Elliott Morgan scored his first goal of the season off an assist from Logan McBride.…
