Herd Women’s Soccer Lands Signature Victory Over JMU, 2-1

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Women’s Soccer (6-2-3, 2-0-1 SBC) scored a pair of first half goals to sink the SBC Preseason favorites, JMU, 2-1. Set piece goals by Geovanna Souza and Maria Chaves in the 20th and 23rd minutes were enough for the Herd – who are in a three-way tie for the league lead after Matchday 3. The signature victory for Head Coach Rafa Simoes and Marshall is the program’s first win over JMU since joining the league in 2022.
