Bruins’ Matthew Poitras on Injured Reserve: Latest Updates & Recovery

Tough news for a youngster heading into the start of a new season. On Sunday, the Boston Bruins announced that forward Matthew Poitras will start the 2026-27 season on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury. Poitras suffered the injury this past Tuesday, which kept him out of the Bruins’ final three preseason games. With him going on IR to begin the campaign, there’s a chance that the 22-year-old will also miss the first four games of the regular season as well.
