Elzy Jr. Earns Southland Player of the Week Honors

HAMMOND, La. – After helping the Southeastern Louisiana University football team to its first Southland Conference win, Lion running back Chad Elzy Jr. was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Week Monday. Elzy Jr. is the second SLU player in as many weeks to claim SLC weekly accolades. Teammate Dkhai Joseph was named the Southland Special Teams Player of the Week Sept. 21. Elzy Jr. rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns in Southeastern’s 52-21 victory at Northwestern State.
