Jets claim Clay Stevenson off waivers from Capitals

The Winnipeg Jets have claimed goaltender Clay Stevenson off waivers from the Washington Capitals, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Monday afternoon. Stevenson, 27, split the 2025-26 regular season between the Capitals and the AHL’s Hershey Bears. The 6’4″ netminder went 3-1-0 with a .921 save percentage in four NHL appearances with the Capitals; in 37 games with the Bears, he posted an 18-13-3 record with a .912 save percentage. A product of Drayton Valley, Alta., Stevenson is now guaranteed to start the 2026-27 season on Winnipeg’s NHL roster.
