Women’s Basketball’s Taryn Bond to Play for Australia in U18 Asia Cup
HONOLULU — University of Hawai’i women’s basketball freshman Taryn Bond has been selected to compete for Australia in the upcoming FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Cup in Malaysia. The eight-team event is scheduled for Oct. 4-10 in Seremban. Australia will open the tournament against the Philippines on Oct. 4 and will also face New Zealand and Korea in Group A play. China, Japan, Chinese Taipei and Malaysia are in Group B. The second and third seeds in the groups meet in the quarterfinals, with the top seeds advancing to the semifinals.
