First-half penalty kick proves crucial in ‘Cats match against the Loggers
McMINNVILLE, Ore. – Linfield men’s soccer (3-4-3, 2-2-1 NWC) put four shots on goal in the opening half but was unable to overcome a first-half penalty kick in a 1-0 defeat against Puget Sound (3-0-4, 2-0-3 NWC) on Saturday. The Wildcats tested the Puget Sound defense early, with Caleb Ishizaka and Oli Gaines putting shots on goal in the opening six minutes.
