Penguins activate Ben Kindel, place David Gustafsson on waivers
The Pittsburgh Penguins made a pair of roster moves on Saturday afternoon ahead of their game against the Montreal Canadiens that evening. Sophomore forward Ben Kindel is slated to make his 2026-27 season debut on Saturday after being activated off the Penguins’ injured reserve list. The 19-year-old center missed Pittsburgh’s season opener while recovering from a lower-body injury he sustained during the preseason. To make room for Kindel on their 23-man roster, the Penguins placed forward David Gustafsson on waivers for the purposes of assigning him to the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
