Archibald Earns Weekly Conference Honors

IRVING – Rice sophomore Lily Archibald was named the American Conference Swimming Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. The Owls opened their season with a first-place finish at the Rice Fall Splash, totaling 998 points and 18 event victories. Archibald led the way with three individual wins and two first-place relay finishes. Archibald won the 100-yard butterfly in 54.02 seconds, ranking first in the American Conference. She also placed first in the 50-yard freestyle (23.12) and 100-yard individual medley (59.38), with both times ranking fourth in the conference.
