Sunlake’s defense set the tone in a win over Cypress Creek, forcing early turnovers and helping the Seahawks build a lead. Junior Elijah Vazquez helped keep the defense organized by reading offensive formations. He said the victory reflected the team’s growth and confidence at the varsity level.

Yes, But

Vazquez credited the team effort, coaches’ preparation and senior teammates—not just his own performance—for the win. The result was also a meaningful send-off for seniors playing their final game on Sunlake’s home field.

Bottom Line

For Sunlake, the win was a statement of team identity and belief, with its defense leading the way.
