Orlando beat New York 111-102, but the win was overshadowed by a serious-looking knee injury to guard Jalen Suggs. His right knee buckled during a fourth-quarter fast break, and he needed help leaving the court. The injury has not been diagnosed; Suggs is scheduled for further testing Monday.

By the Numbers
  • Magic 111, Knicks 102.
  • Suggs finished with 4 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.
  • Orlando opened the season with two losses before Sunday’s win; New York fell to 0-3.
Yes, But

Suggs was in “good spirits” after the game, coach Sean Sweeney said, but his status remains uncertain. The non-contact injury is concerning, especially with Paolo Banchero already sidelined by an ankle sprain.

What's Next

Suggs will undergo further testing Monday, which should provide more clarity on the injury and his availability.

Bottom Line

Orlando secured its first win, but Suggs’ health could quickly become the bigger story as the Magic navigate an already-depleted backcourt.
