The Royals have selected Delaware North Sportservice to run food and beverage at their planned downtown ballpark. Sportservice will begin at Kauffman Stadium in 2028, giving it time to build a Kansas City team and develop local partnerships before the move to the new venue.

By the Numbers
  • Sportservice has served MLB fans since 1930.
  • It currently partners with 10 MLB teams; 7 rank among the league’s top 10 for concessions in the “Voice of the Consumer” survey.
  • Those partners include the survey’s No. 1- and No. 3-ranked teams.
State of Play
  • The Royals plan to make Kansas City restaurants, businesses, suppliers and culinary talent central to the ballpark’s food and beverage program.
  • Starting at Kauffman Stadium will allow Sportservice to recruit and train staff ahead of the transition.
Bottom Line

The partnership is intended to make the new ballpark’s hospitality feel distinctly Kansas City—and to build the local team and operating experience before opening day.
