Shepherd was picked sixth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference’s East Division preseason poll after finishing 11-16 last season. The Rams won eight of their final 12 games, and coach Julie Kaufman was named PSAC East Coach of the Year. Senior guard Kara Wehner, a first-team All-PSAC East selection, leads Shepherd’s returning players.

By the Numbers
  • Shepherd’s 2025-26 record: 11-16 overall, 9-12 in conference play.
  • The Rams finished second in the PSAC in turnover margin (+3.77) and third in steals per game (10.9).
State of Play
  • Shepherd was picked sixth among eight East Division teams; East Stroudsburg was the preseason favorite.
  • Wehner returns after averaging 15.0 points per game. Shepherd opens its season Nov. 13 at Bowie State, with PSAC play starting Dec. 4 at Seton Hill.
Bottom Line

Shepherd enters the season outside the division’s top tier in the poll, but its strong finish and returning All-PSAC scorer give the Rams a chance to outperform that projection.
