Jake Paul will return to the ring against French kickboxing star Cédric Doumbé in a professionally sanctioned cruiserweight boxing match in Dubai on Christmas Eve. The matchup pits Paul’s boxing experience against Doumbé’s decorated kickboxing résumé and MMA record.

By the Numbers
  • Paul: 12-2, with 7 knockouts.
  • Doumbé: 75-7-1 in kickboxing, 6-1 in MMA and 1-0 in boxing.
  • The bout is scheduled for 8 rounds at 200 pounds, with 10-ounce gloves.
  • The fight is set for Dec. 24 at Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai.
Yes, But

Doumbé brings far more kickboxing and MMA experience, but this contest is boxing—not kickboxing. Paul also says he is rusty and has a lingering jaw issue, which could add uncertainty to the matchup.

What's Next

The fighters are scheduled to meet at press conferences in Paris and Dubai next week before the bout.

Bottom Line

Doumbé’s combat-sports credentials make him a notable opponent, but the result will hinge on how well his striking transfers to boxing—and whether Paul is ready to compete.
