Goldey-Beacom’s women’s soccer team earned three All-CACC selections after a strong turnaround season: junior forward Jessica Jensen made the first team, while senior midfielder Miley Jones and sophomore defender Maria Fonseca landed on the second team. The Lightning also reached the conference tournament for the second straight year under first-year coach Heather Faasse.

By the Numbers
  • Jensen tied for the CACC lead with 11 goals and 25 points.
  • Jones ranked fifth in the conference with 7 goals and tied for fifth with 17 points.
  • Fonseca started all 18 games and recorded 2 goals and 4 assists.
State of Play
  • Goldey-Beacom made its second consecutive CACC Tournament appearance and its 10th in the last 12 competitive seasons.
  • Ten of the team’s 15 players who appeared in at least 10 games have eligibility remaining.
  • Sophomore Lanie Pennington was named the team’s CACC Sportsmanship Team selection.
Bottom Line

Three all-conference honors reflect Goldey-Beacom’s progress, while a largely eligible returning group gives Faasse a foundation to build on.
