Utah Valley opens its 2026-27 home wrestling schedule Friday against No. 9 Iowa State at the UCCU Center. The Big 12 dual is the Wolverines’ only home match at the venue this season and follows a strong showing at the Clarion Open, where two UVU wrestlers won titles.

  • Iowa State leads the series, 8-0.
  • UVU had 19 of 21 wrestlers place in the top six at the Clarion Open.
  • Five Wolverines and six probable Cyclones are ranked.
Yes, But

UVU brings momentum from its season-opening tournament, but Iowa State is ranked ninth nationally and has six ranked wrestlers listed in its probable lineup. The Cyclones have won every previous meeting between the teams.

  • Iowa State opened its season with a 29-12 win over Bucknell, the first match under new head coach Brent Metcalf.
  • The match will stream on UVU’s YouTube channel and FloWrestling.
What’s Next

After a week off, UVU resumes Big 12 dual competition Nov. 19 against West Virginia at Lockhart Arena.

Bottom Line

UVU gets an early home test against a top-10 conference opponent, with a chance to turn its tournament momentum into a breakthrough against Iowa State.
