Main Story

Mountain View High School’s varsity field hockey team closed its league season with an 8-0 loss to Palo Alto on Senior Night. Despite the score, the coaches praised the team’s resilience and offensive effort, while seniors reflected on their final game and encouraged younger players to enjoy the sport and make the most of future opportunities.

By the Numbers
  • Palo Alto scored 5 goals in the first half.
  • Mountain View lost 8-0 in its final league game.
Yes, But

The lopsided score did not capture the teamwork and offensive pressure Mountain View showed, assistant coach Natasha Pudikudi said. For senior Jasmine Zhao, ending the season was bittersweet; senior Emilie Chan reminded underclassmen that more chances to play—and enjoy the sport—lie ahead.

Bottom Line

Senior Night ended with a difficult loss, but the team’s shared effort and the connections built across the season mattered beyond the final score.
