The Warriors have bounced back from an 0-3 start with five straight wins, and longtime team broadcaster Tim Roye credits added depth and Yaxel Lendeborg’s versatility for the turnaround. Lendeborg gives Golden State another player who can create offense, draw fouls and keep the team competitive while Jimmy Butler is out. Roye also sees promise in center Charles Bassey’s rim protection and Brandin Podziemski’s growing poise.

By the Numbers
  • Golden State opened the season 0-3, then won five straight.
  • Tim Roye is in his 30th season as the Warriors’ radio voice.
Yes, But

The winning streak is an encouraging early signal, not proof of a lasting leap: the team is only about one-tenth of the way through the season, and Jimmy Butler remains out until midseason. Roye believes the Warriors’ deeper rotation and ability to win imperfect games are more sustainable than the streak itself.

Bottom Line

Lendeborg is giving Golden State a needed source of offense and optimism, while contributions from the bench could help the team stay afloat until key players return—and give Stephen Curry and Draymond Green a better chance to make a playoff push.
