BVM – The NASCAR Cup Series has used 110 numbers on its cars and the numbers 80-89 have made a significant impact over its rich history.
Cars numbered 80-89 have seen the track over 5,000 times and piled up 114 wins. No drivers have had more of an impact with this number grouping than NASCAR legends Dale Jarrett and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Notably, only two drivers in Cup Series history have ever won championships driving a car number in the 80s full-time (1957 and 1999).
For the 2023 season, there are no cars numbered 80-89 that are slated to be used full-time. Jimmie Johnson, a seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, will be a part-time driver this year.
