Plano Softball eyeing another postseason berth
PLANO, Texas (BVM) — We are nearing the playoffs in District 6-6A softball. And standing at the No. 4 spot are the Plano Lady Wildcats.
After back-to-back losses to Marcus and Herbon, the Lady Wildcats fell back from second place and now sit in fourth place. Marcus and Hebron have combined records of 12-2. Before losing those games the Lady Wildcats had won five of their six last matchups.
Still, sitting at 6-4, the Lady Wildcats are leading the Cowgirls by two games. And having swept the season series against Coppell it puts the Lady Wildcats in a better position to make the playoffs.
Also, if the Lady Wildcats are able to make it back to the postseason, it would extend an already impressive streak for the program. Excluding last season, an appearance in the postseason would extend the team’s qualifying streak to 14 years in a row.
This team continues to show that they have the knack to get it done in crunch time. Walk-offs and late-inning rallies have been the key to the Lady Wildcats benign in fourth place. They’ll look to get back in the win column tonight against Lewisville.
