Seven Badgers earn Big Ten Honors after undefeated season
MADISON, Wis. (BVM) — The Big Ten on Wednesday announced the All-Big Ten Conference Honors for the 2020-21 volleyball season. The Badgers had a record seven players given Big Ten honors.
In a season that saw Wisconsin go undefeated and win back-to-back Big Ten Conference titles for the first time since 2000 and 2001, the new record is another accomplishment for the team that enters the NCAA Tournament as the No.1 overall seed.
Seniors Sydney Hilley, Grace Loberg and Dana Rettke along with freshman Devyn Robinson were all awarded first team All-Big Ten honors. While Lauren Barnes, Molly Haggerty, Danielle Hart and Nicole Shanahan earned second team honors.
Hilley was also named Big Ten Setter of the Year for the second year in a row and Rettke became only the second Badger ever to have four straight first team nods.
Wisconsin enters the NCAA Tournament with a first round bye and will play the winner of the Bowling Green vs. Weber St. game on April 15.
