Badgers land Lone Star prospect Avyonne Jones
SOUTHLAKE, Texas (BVM) — Long before Week 1 was set to begin, the Wisconsin Badgers defense signed one of the top defensive backs in the Class of 2022.
Standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 180 pounds, Southlake Carroll’s defensive back, Avyonne Jones, and the Dragons started their 2021 season off on the right foot this past Friday. In that contest, the UW commit recorded four solo tackles, two assisted tackles and two pass breakups according to MaxPreps.
Jones, the three-star recruit, had multiple offers on the table, including from Arizona, Oklahoma State and California.
With the addition of Jones, the Badgers Class of 2022 recruiting class stands at 11. Jones is one of eleven recruits the Badgers have in the Class of 2022. Some of the notable prospects in the class are offensive lineman Joe Brunner, quarterback Myles Burkett and safety Austin Brown.
Now with one game already played in his senior season, Jones will try to help the Southland Carroll Dragons win another state title.
