10 golfers who could be captain’s picks for U.S. Ryder Cup team
(BVM) – The 2023 Ryder Cup is just over a month away with the USA and Europe ready to square off once again in the 44th edition of the event at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome, Italy. This year’s team captains will feature two-time major champion Zach Johnson on the U.S. side going up against former world No. 1 Luke Donald representing Europe.
In less than a week, each captain will fill out their 12-man rosters with six captain’s picks, choosing the best players each side has to offer that haven’t already qualified for the event. Last weekend, the six automatic qualifiers for Team USA were made official which include Scottie Scheffler and Wyndham Clark – both of whom qualified for the event a couple of weeks ago – as well as Open champion Brian Harman, and 2021 Ryder Cup team member Patrick Cantlay.
Max Homa and Xander Schauffele were the final two qualifiers, bumping some big names out of the mix like Brooks Koepka and Jordan Spieth. However, Koepka, Spieth and several others will still have their chance to compete at the event should they hear their name called by Johnson next week.
Here are 10 golfers that could join Team USA as captain’s picks for the 2023 Ryder Cup.
