Corner Canyon win streak ends at 48, Chargers begin new streak
DRAPER, Utah — For the first time since Nov. 9, 2017, the Corner Canyon Chargers have lost a football game. After winning 48 straight games to tie the Utah state record, the Chargers were defeated 41-16 on their senior night by Lone Peak last Thursday.
Corner Canyon’s last loss before Thursday’s was a playoff defeat to Skyridge by a 34-33 score in the 2017 playoffs. The last time the Chargers lost a regular season game was Oct. 13, 2016.
Lone Peak was coming off a 14-9 loss to Skyridge before taking on the Chargers. Lone Peak finished the regular season 6-2 overall.
The loss brought Corner Canyon to 8-1 on the regular season, but the Chargers rebounded Wednesday with a win over Pleasant Grove (1-9) by a 56-8 score.
Devin Brown threw for six touchdowns in the win, three caught by BYU commit Cody Hagen.
