Normal West girls volleyball finish third in IHSA Class 3A state tournament
NORMAL, Ill. — The Normal West Wildcats Volleyball team may have lost their semi-final state game against Belvidere (North) on Friday with a score of 25-18, 25-17, but they quickly regrouped and rallied back with a win on Saturday in their match against Joliet (Catholic Academy). It was a hard fought battle for the third place trophy, but the Wildcats came out on top with a final score of 25-20, 26-24.

The Wildcats finished the season 34-7. Leading the team to their 3rd Place Victory were Senior Averie Hernandez with 16 kills, Junior Sydney Sennett with 20 assists and Sydnie Hernandez with 12 digs.
Normal West can now proudly display their first State Volleyball trophy in school history as their only other state appearance was their inaugural season back in 1995 when they lost in the Class AA quarterfinals. Congratulations Normal West Volleyball on a historic season!
