West Virginia State football suffered a 29-22 defeat to Wheeling on Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets launched a comeback effort in the fourth quarter but fell short by one score. Despite the loss, graduate student Jalen Jones had a standout performance with a career-high 12 tackles. Quarterback Donovan Riddick connected with wideout Javion Monroe for a 41-yard gain on the opening possession, leading to a touchdown. West Virginia State will conclude their season against Charleston on November 11.
