Former Shenendehowa athletes give back during Clifton Park’s donation efforts

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — Shen graduate and lacrosse player, Tommy Flaim, left Wall Street to start an ethical activewear brand called Fox & Robin. “At the end of the day, I’m trying to create a job that I love and build something that I’m proud of,” Tommy said to the Times Union. He is focused on building a company that not only provides an excellent product made of 75% recycled nylon and shipped in recycled packaging, but one that helps to improve the working conditions in the fashion industry by paying their workers more than a living wage. They also give back 2% of sales to both teachers and the environment through NGOs. More to come on Tommy and his new company this spring!

Ian Anderson, now a pitcher for the World Champion Atlanta Braves, was at the Clifton Park Town Center on Saturday, January 8th signing autographs while collecting donations to support local service organizations. For a chance to meet him and get an autograph, fans brought donations for Wellspring Saratoga, CAPTAIN Community Human Services, Jonesville Food Pantry, and the Shen Backpack Program. “We couldn’t be more appreciative to Ian and his family for this great event,” stated Anthony Morelli, Town Councilman. More than two truckloads of supplies went to both CAPTAIN and the Jonesville Food Pantry while a van full of supplies went to both Wellspring Saratoga and the Shen Backpack Program.
