Freeland wrestlers compete at individual regional tournament

FREELAND, Mich. — On Feb. 10, the Freeland High School wrestling team claimed the District Title for the fifth year in a row. Just three days later, 14 of the Freeland High School wrestlers competed at the Individual District tournament. Nine of the wrestlers qualified for the Individual Regional Tournament which was held on Feb. 19.

Competing in the physically and mentally demanding sport, the Freeland Wrestlers’ determination and results of this season make it one to remember. Hours of practicing and competition are sure to put wear and tear on the athletes’ bodies and minds throughout the season. Not to mention, the minor impact COVID-19 had during the season. Despite the hurdles the team pressed through, they never forgot their motto: “We don’t lose, we learn.”
