Rowing teams open spring season against Columbia and Drexel
LEONIA, N.J. — The Bates rowing teams got the spring season started Saturday against Ivy League foe Columbia University, with the women’s team racing Drexel as well at Overpeck County Park. The men’s rowing team raced first, taking on the Columbia Lightweights. The Columbia second varsity eight won the race in 6:23.6 while their first varsity eight took second in 6:25.01. The Bates men’s first varsity eight took third in the race in 6:32.54 and the second varsity eight came in fourth in 6:55.56.
