Mavericks edge Mustangs in doubleheader on Saturday
MARSHALL, Minn.— The Southwest Minnesota State softball team made a valiant effort against the Minnesota State Mavericks, but ended up dropping both games of a doubleheader, 4-3 and 5-4, on Saturday afternoon at Mustang Field. SMSU ends the regular season 19-32 overall and 10-19 in conference play. The fate of the Mustangs lies in the hands of Northern State, which needs to lose both games against UMC tomorrow for SMSU to advance to the NSIC Tournament.
