Rio Rico High School’s Homecoming varsity football game
RIO RICO, Ariz. — The Rio Rico High School Hawks won against the Nogales High School Apaches 21-7.
John Fanning (Community Outreach Coordinator): “From an announcer’s perception, both teams gave it their all, with intense plays and nail-biting moments keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats. The game was a true battle of heart and determination, exactly what Friday night football is supposed to be all about! From the Nogales band performing the National Anthem and the pregame show, to the Hawx Dance teams’ halftime performance, to the Rio Rico High School Band performing at halftime, to the Homecoming festivities, it was a night to remember!”
Carlos Quihuiz (Rio Rico High School Dance Teacher): “On September 13, 2024, Rio Rico High School hosted their Homecoming game against Nogales High School. The reigning 2024 Division 1-4 Varsity Hip Hop State Champions, The HawX Dance Team, and their advanced dance class, all together consisting of 45 students, put on a colorful and exciting Aladdin routine to fit the “Arabian Nights” theme.”
“The routine was choreographed by Coach Carlos Quihuiz and Assistant Coach Kathya Quihuiz and props were made by the HawX family, Quihuiz family, friends, and alumni. Here’s to another great Homecoming season! Thank you to all who came out to support!
