Urbana HS football coaches team up with youth program for clinic

IJAMSVILLE, Ill. — On Sunday, May 1, 2022, more than 75 elementary and middle school-age kids descended on Legacy Field at Urbana High School to participate in a free football clinic, sponsored by the Urbana High School varsity football team.

Head Coach Brad Wilson put on the event, which focused on offensive skills, and culminated in a couple of games of 7v7 flag football. The clinic was run by UHS Offensive Coordinator Matt Byrne, and was supported by several other UHS coaches and players.

This was the third such collaboration between UHS football and the youth program this spring, and is contributing to an unbelievable amount of excitement and anticipation for our upcoming seasons. Urbana Youth Football has currently registered over 250 players for this fall- more than any other season in the history of Urbana youth football.

The youth program would like to thank Coach Wilson, Coach Byrne, and all of the other coaches and players who participated in this incredible event. We would also like to thank all of the parents and kids who made time to attend on a cool Sunday morning. This is what Urbana Hawks football pride is all about!!!! #GoHawks!!!
