Diontae Johnson expected to be traded: 5 possible landing spots

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (BVM) – The Carolina Panthers have arguably been the worst team in the NFL through the first half of the 2024 season, winning just one game while struggling on both sides of the ball.

With the Panthers in a rebuild, they will likely look to collect as much draft capital as they can heading into next year. Recently, ESPN NFL insider Dan Graziano reported that the Panthers are looking “to collect more draft picks in a season going nowhere.” Graziano also noted that teams around the league expect the Panthers to potentially trade several players, including No. 1 wide receiver Diontae Johnson.

Johnson was dealt to Carolina this past offseason following five seasons with the Steelers, highlighted by a 1,000-yard, Pro Bowl campaign in 2021. Johnson has looked good this season when healthy and receiving good quarterback play, but both of those have often been hard to come by. Overall, he has 30 catches for 357 yards and three touchdowns as one of the Panthers’ few offensive playmakers

The six-year veteran is just 28 years old and has proven capable of playing at an extremely high level in the right circumstances. That should lead to plenty of interest if he’s available with several teams across the NFL needing a Pro Bowl-caliber wideout right now, even despite Johnson dealing with a rib injury that will keep him out of action in Week 8.

Here are five possible landing spots if the Panthers look to deal Johnson.
