Chino Hills area racing brothers Idris and Aiden’s karting journey
CHINO HILLS, Calif. — Meet Idris and Aiden Nabi—two brothers blazing their way through the karting circuits with a shared passion for speed and competition. Karting is a fast-paced motorsport that serves as the foundation for competitive racing, testing drivers’ skills in maneuvering lightweight, engine-powered karts on challenging tracks.
Despite their young ages, Idris, 7, and Aiden, 14, the boys are already carving out a name for themselves in the high-speed karting world. As members of Italcorse America, based in Rome, Italy, and DCRacing, their dedication, family inspiration, and pure love for the sport are nothing short of extraordinary.

Early Beginnings and Inspiration
For the brothers, karting is more than just a sport; it’s a family tradition. Their father, Yousuf, is a seasoned Ferrari racer who uses go-karting to sharpen his skills. “Watching him and seeing his passion for racing made me want to try it myself and follow in his footsteps,” said Aiden. Idris echoed this sentiment, “Our dad inspires us to be our best. He practices with us and teaches us to stay focused and patient.”
Yousuf’s influence is evident not just in his love for the sport but also in his approach. Both brothers credit their parents for instilling values of perseverance and respect. Their mom Yolanda’s advice, “Racing is a competition, but it’s also about respect,” echoes within them.
Aiden’s Karting Achievements
Aiden’s journey into karting began just a year ago, but his progress has been nothing short of remarkable. Competing as #201 for ItalCorse America and DCRacing team, he recently earned a podium finish with third place in his last race. “It felt amazing to know that all my hard work paid off,” Aiden shared. His coach, Dario Capitanio, praised his determination: “Watching Aiden progress from zero experience to competing and earning a podium finish in his first race was incredible. It showed his growth and dedication.”
Aiden’s passion for karting extends beyond the track. He’s committed to mastering the intricacies of his kart, from understanding its mechanics to perfecting his racing strategy. “My goal is to get better and faster by working on my race lines and improving at hitting them every time,” he explained.

Idris’ Early Success
At just seven years old, Idris, racing as #217 for ItalCorse America and DCRacing team, is already showcasing his exceptional skill and enthusiasm for karting. With two years of karting experience, he loves the thrill of passing other racers. “It feels amazing, like I’ve just won a trophy,” Idris said with a big smile. His favorite moments on the track are when he gets to showcase his skills and see how much he’s improved.
Idris’ enthusiasm isn’t limited to racing. He has a wide range of interests, from drawing and baking to playing soccer and exploring new places. “I love learning new things and trying different activities. It makes life so much fun,” he said.
The Challenges of Karting
Karting is as demanding as it is exhilarating, and both brothers face unique challenges. For Aiden, the biggest hurdle is balancing speed and control. “Trying to go faster without losing control or crashing is tough,” he admitted. To overcome this, he focuses on staying calm and practicing his techniques. Idris, on the other hand, is still learning to navigate the complexities of racing. Despite his young age, he approaches each challenge with a positive attitude and determination.
Their coach, Dario, emphasized the importance of resilience in motorsports. “Karting is dangerous and unforgiving. Sometimes, no matter how hard you work, things can go wrong. But if you push through and stay focused, the rewards are unparalleled,” he said.
Coach’s Perspective
Dario Capitanio, their coach, has been instrumental in their development. As a former champion in karting and race car driver himself, Dario brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table. “One of my proudest moments as a coach was seeing Aiden’s rapid progress. It’s a testament to his dedication and passion for the sport,” he said.
Dario also highlighted the unique challenges of karting. “This sport demands both mental and physical endurance. It’s about mastering the fundamentals and staying resilient in the face of adversity,” he explained.
A Family Affair
The brothers’ journey wouldn’t be possible without their supportive family. Their dad’s expertise and guidance, combined with their mom’s encouragement and wisdom, create a strong foundation for their success. “Our parents have taught us the value of hard work and never giving up,” Aiden said.
Their family also includes a lovable French Mastiff named Bane and an abundance of saltwater fish and corals. “Bane is our best buddy. He’s big, goofy, and always ready to play,” Idris shared.
Balancing School and Sports
Both brothers excel academically while pursuing their racing dreams. Aiden, a seventh-grader at Canyon Hills Middle School, loves science for its hands-on experiments and discoveries. Idris, a first-grader at Litel Elementary, enjoys math and reading. Both boys attend
Kumon twice a week and have achieved student of the month recognition at school. Despite their busy schedules, they manage to stay on top of their studies with the support of their family.
Hobbies and Aspirations
Outside of karting, the brothers have diverse interests. Aiden enjoys playing baseball and golf, sim racing, and spending time with his dog. He’s also passionate about reading sports books and staying active through swimming and tennis. Idris loves building with Legos, telling stories, and baking treats, especially cookies. His adventurous spirit shines through in everything he does.
Looking ahead, Aiden dreams of becoming a professional race car driver and studying business at the University of Southern California. “I want to understand how businesses work and follow in my dad’s footsteps,” he shared. Idris, on the other hand, is drawn to history and hopes to study at the University of Hawaii. “Learning about the past and how it shapes the future is so interesting,” he said.
Community and Legacy
Idris and Aiden hope to inspire others with their story. “We want people to know that karting is not just about racing. It’s about learning, growing, and having fun,” Aiden said. Idris added, “I want to show that you can achieve anything if you work hard and stay positive.”
As they continue their journey, the brothers are determined to leave a mark on the world of motorsports. With their talent, dedication, and family support, Idris and Aiden are well on their way to achieving greatness.
