Bullitt East advances in state softball

LEXINGTON – Bullitt East sent the defending state champs home in the first round of the UK Health KHSAA state softball tournament on Friday morning. The Lady Chargers defeated Assumption 5-0 behind the shutout pitching of Mackenzie Mingus. Bullitt East will play at 5 p.m. on Saturday on the UK campus in the quarterfinals of the state tournament. The baseball Chargers will play Trinity at 5 p.m. today at Legends Field. And for hoops fans, Anna Tinelli will represent Bullitt East as a member of the Kentucky All-Stars.
